Reversing that, what "meaningful" thing came of late, from lower regulated places? Germany specifically is hard at work on photon computing, just to bring an example. Switzerland is the global HQ for CRISPR.

Almost all of the innovations from the last thirty years came from places with low regulations... Taiwan, America, South Korea, Japan, etc. America had by far the most advances.
