Because Golang, and C#, and Python, and more, are more open than Java. Java doesn't support iOS and other devices officially. Oracle is even not happy to let Java support Android.
That Oracle wants to prevent Java from being used on certain platforms after how heavily Java was marketed as the "runs on everything forever!" language is absurd to me.
