I'm gonna make an assumption that you (and many people on here) sit all day and probably don't exercise intensely regularly, eat healthily, or sleep very well.
I don't think "RSI" by swiping on a screen is your most pressing health concern.

It sounds like it might be a little RSI-inducing though, having to press your finger down all the time.
You already do this every time you scroll, it's no more RSI-inducing than viewing a standard webpage
How often do you flip in the average call?
It probably depends what you're doing with the caller ...

Okay, but at least some of your assumptions are wrong. I recommend melatonin and the flux app for great sleep.
You're right, we should all of us just give up and develop RSI
You're pretty much forced to if you maintain the design constraint that you must be touching the screen.
