I thought this was a very funny video, not because of the reasons you are articulating but because it underscores a very real problem, namely that people come in with unrealistic expectations and can't understand why they are unrealistic.

This being said, I don't think this is a problem specifically related to engineers. I think it affects nearly every specialist who is tasked with a vital role outside of the general knowledge. Accountants, particularly cost accountants, would be my second thought for a profession that must be in a similar position.

Doctors and lawyers also come to mind.

In the end, I think it is funny because the problems are framed in a way we specifically can relate to, not because the problems uniquely affect engineers.
