This made me realize just how much the media's visual portrayal of computer programming is a problem. When he said "It doesn't mean anything" he's gesturing over to a stereotypical background image representation of code which is all tilted, blurred, overlapping, clashing colors, etc. It's purposefully skewed in every dimension to make it incomprehensible, and he actually uses that as evidence about something.
