It's an interesting claim but Occam also suggests it could be ageism + way better offer. Do we really know this older person would have accepted the same offer from the equivalent male younger person?

The "higher up" in this case was Seth Sternberg, born 1979 according to CrunchBase. I'm guessing Elaine and Seth are about the same age.
