The tune is blasting in my head now. Title tune by Huelsbeck and level 1 by Whittaker... these two wrote so many great game tunes.

Great composer, no doubt, but slow (Estimated delivery: Dec 2012) going with the Turrican Soundtrack Kickstarter [0].

I think you must be remembering the C64 version instead of this ZX one.

I remember these two and the Amiga versions (A500, Amiga CD). He played it with a symphonic orchestra too.

But yeah, out of these I think the Amiga/C64 title screen tune is the best, and then the first level (by Whittaker, basically the same tune across versions).
