Comment on Ask HN: How to make a living from Open Source Software on Open Source Hardware?parent

Thanks - that's a really neat solution - however presumably someone would complain if I called that 'Open Source'?

I think most people will be smart enough not to care as long as they can legally do everything they want to do with the source code, but there will be a few vocal people who will produce huge amounts of negative publicity if it is not 'truly Open Source'.

From a very quick skim, it looks like http://opensource.org/licenses/AAL is "OSI approved", so "official open source"-ish.

But yes, people will be happier with a more usual open-source license.
