I have an asian mom and a jewish dad, and they don't mind if I go the "alternative" route and start a company. They don't mind if I never work for a company. In fact, they encourage that I follow my entrepreneurial instincts.

But only as long as I get my college degree. Having a degree would be the one thing that validates my (minimal) intelligence.
