That's what I do, although not for the reasons in the article; I just get bored quickly (gen Y lol) and learning radically different languages and paradigms is just so much fun :) It also seems to help in my main language (C#), after learning Haskell my C# 3.0 programs have gotten way easier to read and understand.

No matter how much you love a certain language you should always keep an open mind and learn something new.
If you are an expert in OOP, try to code for a few months in a functional language.
