If you're using WordPress, Drupal, etc, then AI is devastating. Any sort of project that's not a massive site build with tons of bespoke features and heavy performance requirements is almost certainly cheaper and easier to build with something like Claude.
And a lot of small projects seem like they'll be lost to AI in general. It seems like the days of small web agencies getting a team of 3-10 developers together to build simple sites for local businesses are quickly coming to a close.
But front end in general isn't doomed. Just engineering roles dealing with smaller, simpler projects.
