Comment on Eating Fruit Skins

Comments

Mango skin, leaves, and sap contain compounds related to urushiol, the allergen in poison ivy.

Huh, that's neat, so get used to eating mango skin, and eventually you can eat poison ivy? Kind of handy, thanks!

I started eating mango skin a few months ago. When it's thin and bland, it's not bad. Gives a nice crunch to the eating experience. But often it's way too thick and sometimes strongly bitter.
