I live in Sweden, but my company is not unionized (somewhat unusual). Non-unionized companies at least in tech tend to be _overtly_ better places to work than unionized ones simply because people have the _option_ to go to a unionized company. So the non-unionized companies have to make up for it with better work conditions, benefits and pay.

Even if you are not unionized you benefit from other people being unionized in your profession/area.
