Comment on Show HN: NeXDM – Fast 64-segment download manager for Windows in Rust

Comments

Hi HN!

I built NeXDM (https://nexdm.in) because most download accelerators on Windows are either filled with adware, closed-source tracking bloat, or consume over 150 MB of RAM.

NeXDM is built in Rust using a memory-safe multi-threaded architecture: - 64-Segment Engine: Splits HTTP/HTTPS Range downloads into up to 64 parallel threads. - Native BitTorrent Swarm: Powered by librqbit for seamless torrent & magnet downloads without third-party junk. - Lightweight: Bounded to under 6 MB background RAM and 5 MB binary size. - Microsoft Store Certified: Verified on the Microsoft Store (Store ID: 9NTMZ6V1GZ3V) with zero SmartScreen blue warnings.

Would love to hear your feedback, benchmark results, and suggestions!
