I was a MacUpdater user and fan, and was sad when they announced it was being sunset. Have tried a few of the other "updater" apps, e.g. Latest, Updatest. Those didn't have nearly as wide coverage as MU and so for the last year or so I've been doing a bit of a dance bouncing between 2-3 different updater apps and some hand-rolled scripts to keep my Macs software current.

When Floodtide appeared, I signed on as a beta tester and tested it for a few weeks- it's now replaced all of those others. It's got a nice UI, and supports a lot of sources: Sparkle appcasts, Homebrew casks, GitHub releases, Electron feeds and its own signed catalog. Pretty customizable, can live in the menubar or work on-demand as a dock-only app (my preferred mode). You can also set up exclusions, choose beta/release channels, set the app to auto-update everything (if you want). Also has a nice automatic backup/rollback feature for safety in case an update goes sideways.
