The current P/E ratio in the S&P 500 is about 30, which is historically quite high.

Another way to read that is this -- Currently if you can create $1 of recurring profit and turn the flow into a stock, you will get compensated about $30. (Yes, it has to be done at a bit bigger scale to be in the index, but I think you get the idea). It's historically very high compensation to be a successful entrepreneur right now.
