The SponsorBlock extension does a good job of skipping inline YT ads when watching on the site.

And not only that, but also has settings (configurable per channel) to skip intros/outros, tangents, etc.

It's the superior Youtube experience that, funnily enough, is not available on paid platforms like Apple TV.

iSponsorBlockTV is a self-hosted application that connects to your YouTube TV app and automatically skips segments in YouTube videos using the SponsorBlock API.

I prefer to take it as the video creator confessing that their voice is for sale and not to be trusted and then act accordingly by closing the video and making a mental not never to watch anything from that person again.
