There was a time around 2016-2019 where this was possible with Twilio. I went from nothing to sending real SMS messages to real numbers in under an hour.
Then it scaled, became popular, and got ruined.
Post-Covid, SMS abuse went through the roof, they locked it down with legislation and bureaucrazy, and now it's nothing but pain and suffering trying to send SMS. Twilio/Sendgrid used to be fantastic. And now it's a massive sinkhole of your time, money, and sanity. I've not used SNS before, and obviously anything AWS-related has its own unnecessary complexity. But I promise Twilio can't be much better. Feels like they re-write the entire user interface every year just for kicks and giggles. Good luck finding anything, or remember where anything is.

hate to be the bearer of bad news: it's too late.
