It was very surprising to me 10 years ago to find people who supported Trump on HN. He was so obviously out of his depth in any debate, so obviously a con man and so obviously not that smart.

What’s even more surprising is that after all this time, all his grifting, indecency, incompetence, blunders, bluster and shameful behavior, it’s still more likely to get downvotes than upvotes for criticizing him.

It’s so hard for people to admit they backed the wrong guy.
