Comment on Remembering the King who Drownedparent

Comments

Do you think Turkey can again become a great regional player in the near future? Looking at the population projections for the Balkans and surrounding countries like Hungary, things don't look great long term. Also Austria is afraid to make a statue of the polish king who saved Vienna from Ottomans in order to not hurt t the feelings of it's Turkish migrant population.

Turkey definitely wields a lot of soft power, both in European Turkish communities and in places like the Horn of Africa.

Becoming a hard power could backfire on them. Today, not even Russia and the US seem to be in a position to win their wars of choice.
