The sheer amount of land mass that moved triggered seismometers all over the place. One seismometer registered a 5.2M. To put this in perspective, on the surface of the earth, quake energy does not travel very well. For this to make a seismometer register that high would require an absolutely terrifying massive amount of land to be moving on the surface.

Current estimates are the slide itself was roughly half a mile wide. That's absolutely massive.
