Comment on More Fucked Today Than Yesterdayparent

I'm not based in the US, so your upcoming vote doesn't matter me. But the general idea of write/interact with your local representative I think warrants more attention.

Just actual practical advice is all I'm after, as mentioned it's never quite laid out in simple steps. More just doom at 6 o'clock. Never having kids. We're all fucked(which I don't believe is the outcome we'll end up at).

See my post above for book and event recs.

And well said. For some context, "carbon footprint" and this idea of individual emissions actions to solve climate change started as a marketing campaign by British Petroleum. Even the term "climate change" instead of "global warming" came from a U.S. Bush-era policy memo, because the term global warming "frightened" people.

The book I linked above proposes a different frame, managing your impact at a regional, state, national level etc.

For what it's worth, the US is a globally-influencing powerhouse. Even if you don't live in the US, urging your American friends to vote can be helpful!

It's absolutely not your responsibility, but it is to your benefit.
