This entire Fauci distraction is exactly that, and it's unreal how quickly people are prioritizing picking a "side" while everybody ignores the elephant in the room:
* COVID never went away. Saying "back in the COVID era..." makes no sense, yet everybody has been trained to do so.
* Vaccines were quite effective with the original variant(s), but that quickly changed. They're now always outdated due to how long it takes to produce the next version versus how fast it's constantly mutating.
* Vaccines don't prevent transmission, and even mild cases of COVID (~40% of which are asymptomatic) can lead to life-debilitating Long COVID. Each re-infection is like a round of Russian roulette.
* The only real protection from COVID/Long COVID is rigid use of an N95 respirator in public spaces by everybody in your household. If you don't want to do that, fine, but just know you're signing up for the risks above. Most people don't even know that due to rampant misinfo/disinfo telling people what they want to hear in the name of propping up our archaic consumption-first economies.
As for the OP, no non-US country should be celebrating in 2026, given a Google Trends search for "mcas symptoms" has skyrocketed globally, and its timing is quite suspect wrt COVID:
