I don't really think several of your points are fair.
On Vibecoded Blackbox: You're judging a project I have spent three months coding and testing without having tried it out or looked at the code, by your own admission - worth sitting with before calling it a grift.
On AI: Like 99+ % of developers today, I use an AI assistant while coding. That does not mean I don't test or read the code, that is your assumption. As large AI companies have used my code, my social media, my e-mails, my private pictures and much more to train AIs, I think it is fair to draw a line and find a balance e.g. as I do with the AI-training clause.
On "contribute to an existing alternative instead": A fair take, and at times more useful for the ecosystem. But sometimes you also have to try to realize your own visions. Through years of working in the private sector for someone else, I find it meaningful to spend my free time building something shaped exactly around how I plan my own projects. Even if the app will only ever help me and my close friends/family, it is still a win and then I have gained experience in the process.
On BSL: I have no plans to monetize it, I've got a full-time job. The license is just there so a corporate fork doesn't happen instead of me, not to squeeze money out of anyone.
I think it is fair to be bitter about the way AI is affecting our work. I think that most people working in IT are feeling the pressure, but I respectfully also think that letting your frustrations out on a random solo developer's project is misguided.
Hi, i appreciate and honor your answer, yes, .. i see (as also torvalds... and many coders do that), assitive AI (where people sit in between and do checking) has landed and is productively used, and im also experimenting heavily with it. And im sorry that i attacked you the way i did, as yes, this poisons innovation and demotivates people to do creative stuff. But, even after experimenting (i have not researched your persona, so i dont know your profession either, so yes i assumed a lot, but also it gave me that vibe/red flags) i see so many people just vibing dangerous stuff, and lot of businesses and people see this then granted as just using it and loosing a lot of money and even lives (healthcare, automotive industry..) and so much money and brainchild is wasted in brainrot AI.. it sucks, that no one wants to learn the basics (as im seeing also a lot of students just using ai, and not even researching the basics anymore or even trying to understand "their" code).
And then getting mad when they fail.
Art is not made by just having a armada of special expensive pencils and just managing them.. its usually made by lot of work, repetition, failing and excellence in the end.
