My main objection is that people use AI to replace, not abet, logical reasoning and problem solving. In tech, I used to call this practice "button-pushing", doing things with basically no understanding of the problem, the tools at hand (hidden by a GUI), problem-solving techniques (which are completely transferable among many activities) and even dumb ass logic.

Now, short of AI, I will use web search to come up with ideas to explore, except when my technical queries return almost entirely local restaurants and movies for sale (You heard me DDG) and I have to qualify searches with many terms --- similar to prompts, I guess. But the idea is to brainstorm, not to brain sleep.

My word to young people (and not so young). "If you can push a button or submit a prompt to get an answer or solution to a problem, and not critically review it, management can do it without you."
