I’ve recently been demonstrated NixOS running on a Fairphone (in large part due to the PostmarketOS efforts) and was just blown away by how responsive everything was (legitimately the same as any Android phone, comparable to a low-end Android in Waydroid!). What a far cry from the old Pinephone demos!
