One thing I've thought about for a long time, as someone who's been interested in new technology and sci-fi for a long time:

you still need to work; still need a job.

With all this new technology that does things for us, there will be new things that need doing in order that we can pay for the things that do the old things for us.

I still find this a jarring thought.
