I'm glad that France, Germany, and England are getting hit hard. It means that some of the most powerful countries in the world will actually take action. If it were only some countries in the Global South then there would be less incentive to fix what we've broken.

That's hilarious, since France, Germany, and UK combined barely make up 8.7% of China's total CO₂ emissions [1]. In other words, China emits about 11.4 times as much as France, Germany, and the UK put together.

China is also 10 times the size of those countries put together. So they're about equally responsible.

China also makes most of the world's solar panels, EVs, and batteries.

The UK has more than halved its carbon emissions since 1990 despite a growing population.

They wont. When the IPCC said the worst case scenario is off the table, the reaction of the conservatives was, now it’s time to reduce all that climate change stuff and put some "common sense“ back in, so the companies have less environmental laws to follow
