After doing a bit of research, we decided that the most common real world use cases of zero-knowledge proofs (age verification, crypto, etc) aren’t particularly interesting to us.
Here are real-world uses that I find interesting:
* Gun control opponents sometimes oppose it because of privacy concerns. A ZK proof of good mental health and gun handling skills could be implemented in such a way as to disclose no other information.
* An online ZK identity provider might prove to a new site that a user really exists, without revealing any private information
* Here's an already-implemented use: Kagi uses a zero-knowledge token to allow users access to their tools in such a way that doesn't expose which user they are to Kagi.
I think we don't need to give up privacy to have good things. ZK proofs are one tool that could help that happen
