And, frankly, fuck 'em if they can't keep up. It's truly the best and most ethical outcome for everyone if the people the economy no longer needs to the way of work horses. Maybe there's a business opportunity in organ harvesting. Sam Altman should fund some startups.

If you want a future, get on board with it.

This is what everyone says until hardship befalls them and they are forced to see reality in every facet. After which they have a drastic change of heart. I think adults all go through this at some point.

For about 3 or 4 decades I felt this way. I have found many of us "futurists" to just be exceedingly naive in that we do not see the whole picture; rather--we cherry-pick what we think the world is (or should be) and impose that view onto everyone.

Then we meet someone who does see the whole picture and feel attacked. Even more so if what they are saying sounds perfectly sound in logic.

The thing that people hate most is being told things that make sense that force them to abandon their way of thinking.

The go-to is to find other naive people who think the same thing and form a negative consensus to combat what we already knew as true. Strength in numbers. If 90% of the people said the sky is green, it would be green no question about it.

If the current events of the world don't prove that, I don't know what does.

you know: you're the work horse of this conversation right now. you add nothing of value to it.
