I thought I remembered that the first Leica digital cameras (very expensive) didn't have a screen at all. "Chimping" or checking the shot immediately after taking it was seen as some sort of crutch that "real" photographers didn't need.
But it looks like the Leicas always had a screen, so maybe I'm thinking of another brand.
