I couldn't find out if he ever got convicted or sentenced to anything.
But any cyclist, including myself, can tell you that there are people out there with murder in their hearts who want you to die just for the crime of delaying them by a few seconds.

Often it's not an actual delay, but just a perception of a delay as the driver then arrives at the next queue a few seconds later which makes no difference to their total journey time.
The big difference between drivers and cyclists with murder in their hearts is that drivers have the means to do so and often do through negligence or even -as described- with intent.

YEs, absolutely, there is a big difference. My point was rather that both drivers and cyclists can be assholes (with different outcomes)
