Comment on The Micropayment Trap: Why Subscription Models Win

Comments

They only win if you buy them. Never purchase subscriptions. At this point, the default position should be to NEVER purchase a subscription. Exceptions can be made with specific research, and in exceptional cases. But that exception process must be singularly critical and rare.

This has been my default position from when the software industry greedily decided to adopt them for things that aren't ongoing services. Software subscriptions are corrosive and lead to a whole ton of bad downstream effects. It's a game I can only lose, so I won't play.
