Compared to other places, I’ve found HN to be pretty balanced politically.

Of course the guidelines point out that politics are generally off topic, which avoids a lot of tribalism around it.

Off-Topic: Most stories about politics, or crime, or sports, or celebrities, unless they're evidence of some interesting new phenomenon. If they'd cover it on TV news, it's probably off-topic.
