I wish they'd call it Computational Science, since that's what it is. Computers are only involved for convenience, just like with geometry and lithography.
I do think that both approaches are legitimate, but conflating engineering with mathematics just causes unnecessary confusion, and feeds pointless Internet flamewars over semantics.
