It is really easy to see the problem with Airtime and you could have recognized this already with Chatroulette: It is really exhausting, people don't relax while video chatting. Even with your mum you constantly have to think about what is seen on the video feed right now.
Especially on Airtime there is no purpose. This would maybe make sense in a clear dating context, but a rejection would hurt much more this way - not fun to do. So why should somebody put effort in talking with some stranger about something?
