While waiting for the operator at Walmart to find the 4 digit code for an uncommon vegetable, I asked ChatGPT if it could lookup the code and it failed (I'm guessing they are not published for commercial sensitivity reasons?).
PLU codes are in a database you can freely query from your phone. The only problem is that there are so many of them. Like 15+ just for a banana. Which one Walmart uses is up to Walmart.
