I don’t know, but you might be on to something there.
If so, that could be an advantage for high-end open source projects. Just as before, those projects will still need a critical mass of users and developers who have time, taste, are willing to commit, etc. But if people no longer trust SaaS then more people might look out for open source alternatives and engage there.
