Do you have a wife or kids to support? Do you have any savings? I would recommend at least 6 months of savings before you do something like this. A year would be even better.
I have a wife and she has a decent job. No kids yet but planning one soon (next year or so). We can live off her income if we live within our means which we are doing already. I have more than 18 months of savings based on our current cost of living.
