There are reports of using LLMs and ML in drug discovery and gene analysis. It might be a stretch to claim that it would be physically impossible for a human to do this, but it's making a dent in the "not enough hours in the day" part of the job. Not familiar with any novel software.

With fairness to non-AI computing, projects like Folding@Home also did this same task without any AI or ML. It wouldn't shock me if the power-per-discovery ratio was roughly similar too.
