the app is utter rubbish. I have never seen anything worse in years, really.
First thing, you need an account (why? what for?). I have an Ikea symfony speaker and I basically can't use it. The whole process of discovery and connection is broken, had to go through several hacks. It could not connect to my very simple home network (no fancy authentication, 2.5GHz). Went to use the cable, it connects (hurray), but there is no way to play local files. Only cloud stuff. I had to give up.
These devices are everything music devices should NOT be. In the bin now.
