Any person who gains a sufficiently large audience implicitly turns into a performer. Lying about NW / income / expenses isn't cool, but you also shouldn't expect "Sam" to be as authentic as someone you know personally. Implicit in the notion of being a performer is that they're giving a performance; and, as part of that performance, one should expect that certain aspects of the real person behind the character get lost or distorted.
