Comment on Ask HN: Someone has to eventually pay for it. So who?

Candidly in 25 years I have only see a hype cycle this dominant once.

The dot com bubble.

Most of the other waves were evolutions (Web 2.0), branding (SAS), or just a shift in responsibility (cloud).

I am reminded of an Alan Greenspan quote: "Is the market high only because of some irrational exuberance — wishful thinking on the part of investors that blinds us to the truth of our situation?"

It's the lack of voices with questions that says maximum hype.

Google, FB, MS are the ones footing the bill. VC's are footing the bill.

It's not a question of who pays its a question of if it pays off or if someone (who matters) burns in the process.

Completely agree , its banking on if it pays off
