Comment on All individuals should be able to have and own their own domain namesparent

How do you figure that? You can set a MX record on a domain, but it still has to go somewhere.

I can host my own email. We could all go point to point. Isn't that obvious?

And when you host your own email, it will be on an email server, so we would still need email servers. Also, you'd suffer with delivery because gmail is aggressive about blocking people even if they have a domain.

Maybe not. Using my imagination, I can envision a mail client that also performs the server function for a small set of addresses (my addresses).

It's important to think about the possibilities when changes are suggested, and not just default to wet-blanket responses.
