Of course I pretty much associate the orange and gray with HN, so I'll probably get 250, and say "YES! I can change my top bar color!" and then try to decide what color to use for 10 minutes and leave it the same.
Yeah, I thought about that as an option. I actually used Firefox Web Developer Toolbar (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/60 it does everything!) to see what it looked like w/ #f6f6ef as parenthesis says he uses.

I think that HN looks 'wrong' now when I'm not logged in. (I use f6f6ef for a more tasteful look.)
chances are you'll stick to the original look...nothing really looks better
