If its in office, its Visual Basic for Applications, not VBScript. They are similar, but different.

PowerShell is the .NET based shell and associated scripting language that replaced the DOS-evolved Command Prompt & BAT language as the primary one of each in Windows (and which is also available cross-platform for all OS’s .NET is available for.)

Yeah, it’s going to continue as a scripting option on Windows with the retirement of VBScript, why wouldn't it?
