Comment on The business of takehome assessments

Comments

I’m 27 and single. There lies the biggest advantage of a takehome assessment for me: I get to spend more time on it than someone with a wife and two kids.

Counterpoint: those fresh out of school are likely to do the best in some "invert a binary tree" leetcode style interview, with that fresh in their memory. Those who are older (and thus more likely to have families) who actually have experience at the craft are most likely to be able to bang out an actual coding task quickly.
