Comment on Apple Vision Pro brings a new era of spatial computing to business

Comments

It seems like this blog post is targeting business executives who like to look at pretty visualizations, rather than actual workers. I can't imagine someone in manufacturing/engineering wanting to use a heavy, fragile HMD that (slightly) limits their vision and probably isn't compatible with any PPE. Similar for data workers, 3D viz can be helpful for understanding physical objects (medical imaging, industrial design, etc) but almost always adds friction for understanding any other type of data.

If you thought "CEO needs an interactive dashboard for this doodad report that he will look at once or twice" was bad, now wait for "CEO needs an interactive VR/AR dashboard environment that he will look at once or twice"...

Now you can review KPIs and Status indicators, in 3d - errr I mean "spatially".

I thought the 2nd image was realistic to business. Our clients are VERY into clicking on a point on a map and opening a variety of reports. Viewing multiple reports in space at the same time on a 3d map would bake their ziti.
