Comment on Ask HN: How did high level programming languages take over?

Low level languages were so much more hassle than we have to deal with today. Try coding something trivial in assembly or some business logic in C and you will quickly see what I mean. Higher level languages became popular as they offered quite a bit more bang for the buck in terms of dev effort and what could be accomplished with relative ease. Thats how I remember it. I think AI will end up doing the same thing with high level languages.
