Wikipedia entries are some of my favorite HN front page entries because it’s always a mystery to me as to which ones pop up and which don’t (I’ve submitted a few that didn’t make it). Try archive.is to bypass paywalled articles.
Granted, sometimes you'll find an interesting article that even may send you on the hyperlinks journey across the wiki but there are accounts who just pump karma on Wikipedia.
Once again, I believe that tags (like on two stop bits, https://twostopbits.com/news) and blocklists features could help filter out constantly uploaded trash or even get rid of spammers
